Scripture lays out clear and effective principles of Gospel Relationships and they are not easy standard to compete with.
God loves you (John 15:9-17)
You have value (1 John 3:1)
You have dignity (Genesis 1:27)
You have identity (2 Corinthians 6:14-18
We are forgiven (Psalm 103:10-12)
Ask forgiveness proportional to my sinfulness. (James 5:16, John 1:8-9)
Singleness of truth (authority) (John 1:14)
God is sovereign. His truth is perfect. (Col 1:16-17, Psalm 90:2, Hebrews 1:3)
The world hates the gospel marriage because the world loves self. The gospel marriage loves Christ. (Matt 10:22, John 15:18)
God made the family and knows best how it should work. (Genesis 5:1-2, Eph 5:21-33)
This week we are going to spend some time tossing around these principles as we seek to evaluate and improve the nature of our home relationships. This process of humbly submitting to Gospel alignment is a constant theme throughout scripture and has great value for the Christ-follower.
Join us this week as we dive into the messy world of family relationships.
